What Is an Arm Lift?
Arm lift or brachioplasty is a surgical procedure that reduces skin and fat on the underside of the upper arm between the armpit area and the elbow, reshapes your arm with smoother skin and contours, and reduces localized fat in the upper arm region. The scar is usually placed toward the back of the arm (from the armpit to the elbow) so as not to show in the front view.
In some cases, liposuction can be used to remove fatty tissue from around the upper arms through small incisions. However, liposuction does not address the excess skin, which requires an arm lift to surgically remove sections of skin and fat. Sometimes an arm lift is performed in conjunction with liposuction.
